How clipping agency pricing works
Clipping agencies rarely charge per clip or per hour. Most campaigns pay for results instead: views on approved clips. Here is how that works, what you control and how to read the numbers.
The two parts of the price
1. The view budget
This is the money that goes to clippers. You choose a rate per 1,000 views and a minimum payout, the amount a clip has to earn before it is paid at all. Clippers are paid only for approved clips, only for real views, and only until the budget runs out. The budget is a hard cap, so the campaign never pays out more than you set.
2. The management fee
This covers everything around the views: strategy, the editing guide, publishing the campaign, managing clippers, reviewing submitted clips and weekly reporting. At Clipnaut it is agreed upfront, in writing, as a share of your budget and is charged on top of it. There are no hidden line items and no long-term commitment.
How the minimum payout works
| Views on an approved clip | Paid at $1 per 1,000, $5 minimum |
|---|---|
| 3,000 | $0 (below the minimum payout) |
| 5,000 | $5 |
| 40,000 | $40 |
| 250,000 | $250 |
The numbers are only an illustration, not a typical result. The point is how the money moves: clips that take off get more of your budget, and clips that never reach the minimum cost nothing.
What you decide
- Budget: the total you are willing to spend on views. It is a hard cap.
- Rate per 1,000 views: a higher rate usually attracts more clippers to your campaign.
- Minimum payout: filters out clips that only get a few views.
- Rules: which content can be clipped and where it can be posted. Clips that break them are not paid.
Why no honest agency guarantees views
Views on clipping campaigns are organic. Nobody knows in advance how many clippers will join a campaign, how many clips they will make or how the platforms will distribute them. A guaranteed number of views usually means bought views or bots, which platforms detect and penalize. With pay-per-view pricing you don't need a guarantee: you pay only for views that actually happen, up to the budget you set.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a clipping agency cost?
It depends on the budget you choose. You set a budget that is paid out per 1,000 views on approved clips, plus a management fee for running the campaign. At Clipnaut the fee is a share of the budget, agreed upfront and charged on top of it.
What is a minimum payout?
The amount a clip has to earn before it is paid at all. With a $1 rate per 1,000 views and a $5 minimum, a clip needs 5,000 views to be paid.
Can a campaign cost more than my budget?
No. The budget is a hard cap. Once it is paid out, the campaign stops paying for new views. The management fee is agreed upfront, so there are no surprises.
Do I pay for clips that don't follow my rules?
No. No clip is paid without our review against your guide, and rejected clips are never paid.
Is there a long-term contract?
No. You agree on each campaign separately and can stop after any campaign.
